Golden Eagles have been reading Rose Blanche by Roberto Innocenti, set in Germany during World War II. It is about the Holocaust. We have been using drama to understand some of the characters and produced freeze frames of the arrogant mayor who supports the Nazi Party, as he captures a small Jewish child who has escaped the soldiers grasp. He smugly recaptures the child and hands him over, terrified, to the German soldier. Our freeze frames show this moment and we chose facial expressions and body positions to infer how our characters were feeling. We then added what the mayor might have said at this moment, based on what's we know of his character.
